Do-over

Ever paint something and just hate it?

We are in the middle of redecorating our bathroom, and we decided to be a bit wild and paint one wall dark chocolate brown and the other walls a blueish color (to match the new shower curtain). We had already bought towels and made the mistake of choosing the blue color by trying to match the towels. Consequently, the color was WAY too bright. Consequently, we hate it. It looked a bit too much like the bottle of scope. (Believe me, the photo is WAY off color wise!)

Know the best thing about paint? It can be painted over. So, for the cost of quart of trusty Sherwin Williams, we are going to try again. Wish us luck!

Sorry, Pottern Barn

I am stealing your idea, Pottery Barn. Sorry!

I have been working on Allison's room decoration forever, and when I opened my latest Pottery Barn Kids catalog, I finally found "it". I have had several empty frames hanging above her changing table for months now, but I have finally tackled that little project. Not quite finished, as I ran out of canvases, but I will share photos of my blatant copying as soon as I am done. I rather like it. Thanks, Pottery Barn!

And so it begins...

Mom and I, circa 1974. What kind of crazy person fingerpaints with a 2-year-old (while wearing white, mind you) for no particular reason? My mom. She was a stay-at-home mom in those days and although I do not specifically remember this art project, I remember doing lots of fun artsy things with her. Making dough ornaments at Christmas, writing books, cutting and gluing, stringing beads and sequins. I still love all of that and I am making an attempt to instill that love for creating in my kids as well (so far, so good!). Thanks, Mom.
